Reflections: "Thoughts and ideas by Hanneke from Magical Yarns"

Welcome to Reflections

In this space, I share more than just thoughts—I share real moments, firsthand experiences, and the lessons I have gathered through the simple yet profound art of knitting and crocheting. Reflections is about more than crafting; it is about connection—through colour, creativity, and emotion. Here, threads do not just weave into beautiful pieces; they intertwine with stories, memories, and moments of personal growth.

Through these reflections, I hope to inspire you to find joy in the little things: the soothing rhythm of stitches, the healing power of colour, and the magic of creating something with your own hands. Together, we will explore how crafting can bring peace, mindfulness, and a deep sense of accomplishment—one stitch at a time.

I invite you to join me on this journey—to share your own experiences and discover the beauty of life through creativity. Let us connect, inspire, and support each other along the way. ✨🧶

"In this section, I share my personal thoughts and insights on various aspects of creativity and life. These reflections represent my unique perspective, shaped over time through introspection and hands-on exploration."

“For me, knitting and crochet go far beyond creating beautiful things like blankets, hats, or scarves. While those pieces are lovely gifts, the true magic lies in the process itself—it's deeply satisfying and profoundly therapeutic. Every stitch takes me into my own world, a place of calm and creativity that I hope to share with you in the days and weeks ahead through my "Reflections" on Magical Yarns.

She was a handcraft teacher when most women weren’t expected—or even allowed—to have a career outside of marriage. Her strength and determination left a lasting impression on me, shaping not only my love for knitting and crochet but also my own resilience and drive.

“Lessons in Every Stitch: A Reflection on Passing Down the Craft”

I still remember my own school days, learning to knit under the watchful eye of a strict teacher. One lesson stands out vividly: we had to knit a square using a rather harsh, cream-coloured yarn.
